FEBRUARY 2012

We are almost half way through the winter season. Are you already looking forward to spring? I am as I would like to start playing, if possible, with my friends in friendly golf competition.

MDSC has been drawing good crowds to our monthly meetings at Schweinhaut Senior Center, and we had surprisingly good attendance for our January meeting. January is usually a bad month because of inclement weather.

At our January meeting, Stephen Hlibok, the guest speaker, made a good presentation. We enjoyed listening to his talk very much. Thank you, Stephen. You have ultimately captured keen attention from the audience.

We are going to have another speaker for our February occasion. We will have a well-known speaker, and the name is Vicki Hurwitz, First Lady of Gallaudet University and wife of Dr. T. Alan Hurwitz, President of Gallaudet.

Despite Vicki’s busy schedule, she has consented to spend some hours with us at our February meeting. Please check the MDSC announcement as to the title of her talk. Along with Alan, she was with us at our December 2011 Holiday Luncheon, and we are looking forward to seeing her again on Thursday, February 16 at our meeting.
